Idiot of the Week

By JBC | July 18, 2007

mescotLet’s face it, every American isn’t as patriotic as George Washington, as eloquent as Thomas Jefferson, or as intelligent as James Madison.  However, there are some Americans who are absolutely idiotic beyond the pale.  We should celebrate the ignorance of our most clueless citizens.  Let’s start with a truly helpless “academic” on the Left Coast.  This week’s awardee is Andrea Ontonez, who gets a “special” column from time to time in the Seattle Times.  In the new PC world, I suppose even the intellectually-challenged are given big crayons to scribble their own brand of drool-laden political misinformation.

IdiotIn an article titled, “Shame on you, America, for fearing immigration reform”, Ms Otanez asks (probably in an irritating whining voice), “Do American history classes not include this country’s pattern of xenophobia and prejudice toward immigrants”?  Well, unfortunately, you can find nothing but negative slings and arrows aimed squarely at those patriots who created this country (predominately white men of European descent), in today’s textbooks.  A more interesting question would be, “Are there any white men in American history, other than Bill Clinton and Al Gore, worthy of praise or thanks from the left-wing of American politics”?  Of course, Ms Otanez would retort (again in a whining drone), that George Bush is also worthy of great praise, as has become the ”Great Emancipator II” for freeing the brown man from the xenophobia and repression heaped on the Nuevo Americans by the average hard-working legal citizen.  She goes so far as to say, “President Bush, a man whose loyalties have often been a liability in his presidency, gets it.”  Yes, he gets it.  He gets the lowest approval ratings for a sitting president since…well, ever.  But, as long as Ms Otanez, George Bush, Ted Kennedy, and millions of criminals believe it, it must be true, and added to our textbooks as so.

Otanez states that globalism “is at the grocery store, standing in line next to you at the movie, at the county swimming pool or asking your kid out on a date”.  Well, in a better world globalism would only be allowed to visit and not have the ability to pay for cinema tickets with welfare payments grudgingly forked over by hard-working American citizens, and would not be allowed to date unless long-term relationships can withstain deportation.  Shame on you, Andrea Otanez, and congratulations on your selection as our Idiot of the Week.  No acceptance speech is necessary.
