Abolish the Congress to Save America

By JBC | March 29, 2007

mescotThe members of the US House of Representatives and the US Senate are a joke.  They do nothing but find innovative ways to spend our hard-earned cash in order to line their pockets and assure themselves a long tenure sucking on Uncle Sam’s teat.  I realize that this may not be news to you, but it is getting ridiculous.  How so, you may ask?

I understand that “elections have consequences”, as I’ve heard that shrill ignorant harpy from California, Barbara Boxer, utter on several occasions.  However, if the Democrats wish to end this war in Iraq, which they once supported, they should do so in a forceful constitutional manner.  Instead, they are nothing but blustering empty-headed idiots, who wish only to appear as if they are doing something constructive.  They continue to vote and debate laughable non-binding resolutions.  What the hell?  Ann Coulter issues non-binding declarations three times a week, and she doesn’t want a dime from the American taxpayers for her time and effort.  Both houses of Congress, it seems, have agreed on a foggy timetable for removal of troops, at some point in 2008.  However, they know, as well as other more reasonable folk, that it will be vetoed, or even ignored.

We don’t elect these well-groomed political parakeets to simply squawk.  They are elected to govern, to serve the interests of their constituents, and to protect this great republic.  It seems that the best service any of these asinine ass-jockeys could provide our country is to simply do nothing and say nothing.  If that were to happen, we’d see no increase in taxes, no additional useless unconstitutional “programs”, and we’d be spared their assiduous attempts to misinform and mislead us.  And yes, foreign intervention would continue, with or without their approval, because they lack the gravitas to handle anything more substantial than petty partisan political pandering.  This president is in over his head, I agree.  But to think that our Congress will keep step in to save the day, is to expect the wolves to protect the chickens.  I have a hard time believing that our troops are headed home, and I very much doubt that our foreign policy posture will reset to a palpable disdain for foreign imperialism.

If you hear the words “non-binding” seeping through a debate or proposal from our Congress, you can feel free to ignore the nonsense.  In fact, it is a good bet that you can ignore anything coming from the congress these days, unless it involves your hard-earned cash….however, doesn’t it always?

Unfortunately, we are ill-served by our 535 members of Congress.  These hundreds should be reigning in a man who has lead us astray.  However, they only wish to fight for the right to lead the dance of destruction.
