mescotLondon on Fire

The attacks on the mass transit system in London threaten to unleash explosions much greater than the ones that killed more than 50 innocent people. London police have accidentally put seven bullets into the brainpan of a seemingly innocent rider of the Tube. Immediately following the attacks, Tony Blair and other British politicians were quick to condemn the terrorists and inoculate the vast majority of British people of Middle Eastern descent. No immediate actions for a change in British immigration policy were supported by any of the three major parties. I believe that the British populace may eventually demand stricter controls. But, I am also aware that this is a country that has completely invested itself in multiculturalism and is quite proud of the fact that London and other major cities look less “British” than Tehran. A change may be in the wind, but I am not sure whether Brits will revolt against a British government that has done nothing to stem the tide of non-Western immigration or a British government that is killing innocent non-white men in an effort to repair the aforementioned mistake.

Rove Rage

What is the big deal? Did an administration bigwig and leading neocon philosopher, Karl Rove, give up the name of a covert CIA agent? Is it possible that this is another liberal attempt to bring down the Bush II administration by any means, much like they tried with Bush Sr. and Reagan? My take on this mess is that the Administration, with Karl Rove at the head, tried to discredit the agent’s husband for having the audacity to question the President’s information regarding Saddam Hussein’s intentions. Neoconservatives have neither the time nor patience for people who do not follow their lead, and are willing to take them down by any means necessary. Do Rove’s actions constitute a felony? No. It seems that he was simply stating information that was already well-known. Liberals will take any opportunity to throw a monkey-wrench in the works. Neocons have providing them with a great opportunity to mire our government in yet another scandal.

Turban Durbin

Has Dick Durbin any shame? Though he repeatedly claims that he does not want Supreme Court nominee, John Roberts, to tell the world in explicit terms that he would negate Roe v Wade, he stated that he wants to know how Roberts feels about a Constitutional “right to privacy” and peripheral issues of the Roe decision. I am not sure which end of the jackass I was watching on this particular edition of Meet the Press. While Durbin and the liberal hordes would call for a public lynching of any conservative politician that supported a litmus test on abortion for judicial nominees, they have their own. Hypocrisy is alive and well in Washington.
